Caroline and God

On Saturday I was watching the news coverage on the Pope's visit to the United States. Caroline came into the room and started watching with me. When the Pope came on the screen she pointed to him and asked, "Is that God?"
I was so shocked. Being the good reformed Mom that I am, I quoted the Children's Catechism. "God is a spirit and has not a body like man." I also explained that the Pope was an important man in the Catholic church. I don't think that Caroline was all that impressed.

Perry Catherine

Today Perry Catherine is 6 months old. The time has gone way too fast. She is such a fun and cuddly baby. We are all enjoying her so much.

I took P-Cat (Perry Catherine's nickname) for her wellbaby visit today. Here are her stats. She weighs 14 lbs and 8 oz (25%) and is 25 1/2 inches tall (50%). Her head is 42 cm (50%). The doctor wants to see her back in a month to check her weight. Hopefully she will beef up a little in the next few weeks!

Ballet

Emily's dream is finally coming true. She has spent 2 years going to Caroline's ballet class and waiting while her sister went off to dance. This week Emily will be going into the class with Caroline. She is finally old enough to be a dancer and not just a spectator. She is sooooo excited. Class does not start until Monday, but she already has on her ballet shoes and leotard. I love the proud and expectant look on her face. I can tell that she can't wait to show her teacher, Miss Rosie how good she already is at ballet.

As excited as I am for Emily I do have some reservations. Caroline and Emily will be in the same class. That could be a good thing or a very bad thing. Caroline may feel the need to instruct Emily (since of course she knows what to do after taking for 2 years) and Emily may feel the need to loudly resist. Miss Rosie may be in for a very exciting class. I am praying for a fun experience for all.
